When we test gear, we test in as many real-world conditions as we can. For our The Best Ski Goggle Review, we used the Sierra Nevada Mountains as our testing ground, and what a testing ground it was! With near-record-breaking snowfall, windstorms, rain events, and mudslides, our goggle test stable was put to the test.

All of our goggles were put through the paces, climbing skiing backcountry peaks in every weather condition imaginable, from bright sunny days to socked-in high wind storm days. Our Editors' Choice Oakley Airbrake and Best Buy Smith Squad were trusted enough that we even skied a Tahoe test piece in them, Halls of God.

We didn't restrict our test environment to the backcountry, we also skied and boarded at several area resorts in the Tahoe area.

To really test our batch of lenses, we skied sun up to sun down and pushed the limits of our goggles into twilight.

And with hard work came the rewards…
