Black Diamond Wiz Kid Review

Unlike many kid's climbing harnesses, the Black Diamond Wiz Kid has all the great features of an adult harness. It is a mini version of the Black Diamond Momentum and comes with comfy padding, self-locking buckles, and great gear loops. By comparison, a harness like the Petzl Simba is much less comfortable and much less versatile outdoors. The Wiz Kid is a great harness for a kid who wants a comfortable harness for the gym but also wants the option of going outside. By comparison, the Simba is better for big group situations such as birthday parties and intro to climbing classes. Also, the Simba is better for first-time climbers because the high tie-in point is more likely to keep a kid upright. The Black Diamond Wiz Kid at $45 is a great value and $15 less than the Simba. Because of its adjustability it works for kids 35-110 pounds.
