The Oregon's biggest competitor was the Montana 680 that performed with better accuracy and speed. It also featured a much larger display and 8 MP camera. Even though it performed better, the sheer size of this unit made it a bad choice for any kind of adventure with a "pack-light" requirement. As a result, the Oregon 600t took home the Editors' Choice Award.
While we like the 750 and 750t, we recommend the Oregon 600t to the vast majority of users. The additional features of the Oregon 750t are not very useful and likely redundant with items that the average backpacker/hiker will already be carrying. These include a camera, flashlight, and smartphone. Both have the same navigation features and the additional $300 cost of the 750t is not worth it.
