Our Analysis

The WeeRide Co-Pilot is a pedal style bicycle trailer which gives the child riding it the option of pedaling or just hanging on for the ride. The Co-Pilot has a seat like a traditional bicycle, and thus is best for older kids as there is no restraint system. This also requires the child to be more attentive than in a standard trailer or a pedal trailer in the style of the Weehoo iGo Turbo, that does have a restraint system.

The Co-Pilot attaches to the adult's seat post using a metal clamp. Attaching and disconnecting the WeeRide is somewhat difficult. The seat post clamp can remain in place when not in use, but attaching the trailer is hard due to tight tolerances between the trailer and the seat post clamp. Towing was not quite up to the quality found on the Weehoo iGo Pro during initial testing, due to binding while turning. More testing will be needed, but the WeeRide Co-Pilot looks to be an interesting option for the parent looking for something a bit more exciting for their older child.
