Our Analysis

The 40th Anniversary Edition Pad is No Longer Available
The 40th edition is quite similar to the ProLite Plus, about which we did a complete review. The exterior dimensions are the same. The 40th Anniversary Edition differs in these ways:

• It is Yellow print rather than Burnt Orange print
• R-Value is 4.8 rather than 4.6
• It is two ounces heavier
• It is 2 inches thick rather than 1.5
• It is more expensive

• The logo is different

We like the extra thickness, but don't like the boosted price. The Men's version is $20 less expensive and more retailers carry it so you are more likely to find it on sale. At this price range, you are getting close the cost of a NeoAir which is much lighter and will be the better option for backpackers who want the lightest stuff.
