Our Analysis

Therm-a-Rest has discontinued the NeoAir Pump Sack as of Spring 2020.

The NeoAir Pump Sack is our favorite sleeping pad pump. It solves a critical problem that winter campers face: in cold weather water vapor from your lungs condenses inside your pad. Over time, water accumulates and makes the pad heavier and can damage its interior. By inflating your pad with clean, drier air your pad remains lighter and may last longer.

The Pump sack is a large stuff sack with a vinyl gasket on the bottom. Attach your pad, pull the sack outwards to create as much interior volume as possible, close it up, and compress. We found that four to five pumps fills a NeoAir pad.

The best part of the Pump Sack is its versatility. Slide a partially inflated NeoAir inside for a comfortable camp stool, use it as a stuff sack, or as a pack liner.

The Pump Sack does reasonably well as a seat, too.
